Personal Trainer Teaching Deadlift
You went to college and studied hard. Then you got a good job that you've worked diligently for the last few years, but lately you've started to realize something: you're getting fat. Your posture is getting worse, and you feel like shit.

So you got a membership to Gold's Gym Tallahassee with the plan to go every day, but now you've realized you don't know what you're doing in there. Sure, you know what a curl is, and you know that you should squat, but where to start? You need to hire a Tallahassee personal trainer, and you better make sure it's the best one for you!

This article is going to help you with that. I'll cover it all.

1. Look for someone that specializes in your goal

Too many personal trainers pitch themselves as a jack-of-all-trades, but they are masters of none! If you want to get strong then find someone that IS strong. Find someone that competes in strength sports. If you have a lot of weight to lose then find a personal trainer that has lost a lot of weight. They will be able to relate to your struggles, not someone that's always been lean.

2. Private Studio

This is an important one. A private studio(as opposed to a health club) specializes in personal training. A big health club specializes in selling gym memberships, and is full of people who's favorite exercise is judging. Learning a new skill can be intimidating, and it is only made more difficult when you have unwanted eyes on you. You wouldn't go to Wal-Mart to learn about gardening(you would go to Tallahassee Nurseries!) so don't go to a general health club for your specific fitness needs.

3. What certifications do they hold?

There are countless certifications a trainer can hold, and which they hold can tell you if they are the best personal trainer for you. First, see if their personal trainer certification is nationally recognized. Second, ask about additional certifications they hold and if they are related to the goals you are trying to accomplish.

4. Where are they located?

In Tallahassee we have personal trainers all over. It's important to find a personal trainer that is convenient for you. Consider distance, rush hour, and if it's near your frequented spots.

5. Do they have good reviews?

Reviews are becoming more important every day. I don't buy anything without reading a review for it, and you can be sure I'm going to read reviews for something I'm going to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on. Check Yelp. Check Google. The negative reviews are the telling ones, and where there is smoke, there is fire.

6. Did they respond quickly?

Send them an email. Call their phone. How long did it take for them to get back? If it took any more than 1 business day you should probably look elsewhere. In today's world we are constantly connected to our email and phones, and an organized personal trainer will get back to you quickly because they want your business.

7. Do they offer a free consultation?

This is your chance to check the place out, meet the staff, ya know, make sure you don't hate their faces. For the same reason it's hard to find "the one" on Tinder it can be hard to know if a personal trainer is perfect for you until meeting in person. There is a certain je ne sais quoi that has to be there. Meeting your trainer face-to-face is the best way to know if they ignite your fire.
